New Vice President

Congratulations to Lindsey Britland who has become the Vice President of The Rochdale Law Association.

The Rochdale Law Association has important links to The Law Society of England & Wales and is a group of solicitors who live or work in the Rochdale area

They provide support and a voice for members on important legal issues that impact clients.

The association provides a forum to discuss common issues and forges links with the wider community via fundraising and other support.

I will assist the President to further our initiatives, organise events, voice members’ concerns with government and other legal bodies and attend important legal forums and chair meetings.

We will work hard to forge and strengthen links with the local community and schools for example we currently have a working partnership with the Rochdale 6th Form College where we are providing work experience this summer for the top 6 students who respond to our essay question of “why I want to work in the Legal profession”, We have provided and sat on a panel of legal professionals including judges, barristers and solicitors for a question and answer session which was well attended by legal students. We have also and have funded competitions; recently the art department created our Logo which will be displayed on our new website and any other paperwork, we provided book tokens for the winner and runners up.

As a group we did a charity walk dressed as frogs (last year) and in Pyjamas (the year before) to raise money for Spring Hill Hospice.
